Leading to the Last 7 Years & the Return of Christ: An End Times Timeline

God's 7000-year plan of the End Times

Most people – even Christians – have never heard about God’s 7000-year master plan for mankind. This great plan is pictured by the seven-day week, giving us an End Times timeline.

As Genesis shows, God refashioned the earth and created all life forms in six days and then rested on the Sabbath (Genesis 1:2, 2:3). God also gave man six days in which to work, followed by a day of rest (Exodus 20:8-11). On the seventh day, man is to put aside his normal routine of daily activities and worship the true God (Isaiah 58:13-14). This is a pattern that God established on a grand scale to cover 7000 years. Our great and loving Creator is a God of symmetry and logic.

The apostle Peter undoubtedly understood that the seven-day week is a pattern that applies to time on a far grander scale. He writes, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (II Peter 3:8). The apostle Paul also has this principle in mind when he explains that the seventh day of the week pictures, the peaceful time of rest that will follow this present age of human activity (Hebrews 4:3-11). The apostle John tells us that this period will occur after Christ’s intervention in world affairs, and that it will last a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-4). This period is commonly called the “Millennium.”

Since the seventh day of the week symbolizes 1,000 years of peace under the rule of Jesus Christ, the first six days of the week represent 6,000 years in which man has been allowed to govern himself and work out his own ideas and plans. In other words, each day of the week represents 1,000 years of human existence.

It was 2000 years from Adam to God’s covenant with Abraham (Gen.17:7).
And it was another 2000 years from then to Jesus’ crucifixion.
From the Cross to the return of the Lord is the third 2000 years, for a total of 6000 years before the Millennium.

7000-YEAR TIMELINE

God's 7000-year timeline: the Millennial Week

God has a definite plan. Jeremiah 29:11 …’For I know the plans that I have toward you, saith the LORD.’ …

And does God know the end from the beginning? … Isaiah 46:9-10 … “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” … God not only knows the end from the beginning, but He also “declares” it!

Now this study isn’t to be taken on its own to prove that we are living in the end times, but when put with the other end time signs, this study reveals how close we are to the second coming of Jesus. Matthew 25:13 reveals, no man knows the day or the hour of Jesus’ return, but we CAN know when it is near as revealed in Matthew 24:33.

The thinking behind this 7000-year timeline plan of God is that man would work the earth for 6000 years and then Christ Jesus would return. His second coming would begin the 1000-year millennium rest (millennial sabbath rest for the earth), with the saints being in heaven for the 1000 years. Now many people go from the creation date to apply the 6000 years, but this does not fit, because if Adam and Eve didn’t fall, then this world would have continued forever without any timeline. So, the 7000-year plan must start with the fall of Adam and Eve.

Clearly, we don’t have a date of when Adam and Eve fell into sin. But we do know there were about 4000 years between Adam and Christ, and if we look at the 70-weeks prophecy in Daniel (Dan.9:24-27, where each “week”, shabua in Hebrew means 7, is seven years), we can see that the prophecy was pointing to the crucifixion of Christ, which occurred in AD30. Thus, if we go backwards 4000 years, we arrive at 3970BC for a possible year for the fall. We could also use the cross as the central date of Christ, which would be around AD30.

From Adam to Abraham
2000 years

From Abraham to Jesus’ crucifixion
2000 years

From the cross to Christ’s return
2000 years

* The cross at 30AD + 2000 = 2030AD
–The second coming of Christ!

As we can see, 6000 years given to man to work the earth would take us to 2030. (Some Bible scholars believe the date of the crucifixion could have been 33AD, which would mean 2033 for Christ’s return.)

At the time when a 7-year covenant or peace treaty is signed between Israel and Palestine to allow the construction of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem and daily sacrifices, then will begin the 70th week of Daniel, the last seven years of man’s 6000 years, at the end of which, Jesus will return. (Mat. 24:3, 15-31)

According to this timeline, the last 7 years could begin in 2023!
